4 out of 5 eggsLooks sweet, its big

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 500R Arctic White Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case

Pros: Looks great with room for all sorts of goodies.

Cons: Motherboard bottom screws didn't have a spot to mount. Fan speed is very audible on any setting but low. Top mount radiator was a bit of a process.

Other Thoughts: Took an egg off for the fans making noise, but overall the case looks nice and its doing a fine job. Also you can hear every noise inside so if your paranoid about pc noise like i am, it'll drive you batty.

4 out of 5 eggsBig and roomy inside

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 500R Arctic White Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case

Pros: Cable management is really easy with this case, while the inside is roomy, and good for airflow.

Cons: Top grille sticks, and can be difficult to open. It is as though the latch spring is too weak to fully push out the panel on the front, for easy removal. It's not a serious problem, but installing a couple of fans, or a radiator later, will not be as easy as it should be.

If not for that issue, I would give the case 5 out of 5.

Other Thoughts: I've replaced an aging Antec 902 case with this one. My system is all the happier for it, but I suspect that this case will live up to its full potential with a premium quality air cooler, given how roomy it is inside.

5 out of 5 eggsA great case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 500R Arctic White Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case

Pros: * Good cable management
* Plenty of room for even large components
* More than enough optical drive bays
* Allows for plenty of HDDs/SSDs
* Allows for the installation of more fans
* Really pretty

Cons: * Only 2 USB ports on front
* My case only allowed 3 PSU screws to go in all the way. The fourth had a bit of trouble, but still went in enough for it to work.
* Another hole for a screw didn't line up with the one on my motherboard. The other screws still hold it in place rather easily, though.
* The side fan doesn't light up quite as well as the one imaged.

Other Thoughts: The pros definitely outweigh the cons here. It has space for pretty much anything you want to throw in, keeps your wires out of the way, and looks really good. The cons are really just trivial nitpicking.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case!

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 500R Arctic White Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case

Pros: Runs nice and cool
LED Control
Very quiet stock fans
Easy to build with
Cool color scheme
Durable design

Cons: Shipped with a small bend in a thumbscrew. Not a big deal, but the packaging for the case was not more than just a few styrofoam pieces to hold it in.

Other Thoughts: I'm glad I was convinced to pony up a few big ones for this great case. It does the job and is probably one of the best mid-tower in the market

4 out of 5 eggsQuite surprised

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 500R Arctic White Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case

Pros: - Plenty of included fans, making buying extra fans needless *1
- Two USB 3.0 ports on front case panel
- Front IO panel fan speed control and fan LED toggle *2
- Large side panel fan for massive airflow at very quiet levels
- Expanded side panels for better cable management in the back
- Plenty of grommet holes and cable tie runs
- Easy access to drive bays (5.25" and 3.5"/2.5")
- Lots of space inside, with lots of options regarding HDD/SSD cages being installed or removed
- Top panel lifts revealing great candidate space for fans or water cooling radiator
- Plenty of PCI slots in the back

Cons: - Outdented side panels allow for great cable management space, but it felt like the "lanes" the case encourages you to use is close to the flat part of the side panel. Almost like they give you space to use, but then encourage you to not stay in the "center" of that space

Other Thoughts: *1 = You'll obviously still need a CPU fan
*2 = Fans still connect via molex directly to PSU causing them to constantly spin at low, medium, or high settings based on front IO toggle switch. Would have been great to have them connect to the motherboard for more precise cooling, but that isn't necessarily the case's fault

The front IO panel seems to have a defective audio speaker/mic ports, though I am still in the middle of troubleshooting this. I did not dock an egg for this, merely a mention.

I originally wanted the black version of this case, but the white was on sale and had rebate making it ~$50 cheaper. Once I started working with the case, am I not regretting the decision.

It's a great product, and you won't be disappointed. I aim to follow this up with front audio IO results, indicating if it needs an RMA on the front daughterboard or not.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair 500R, Update: 1 year+ later

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 500R Arctic White Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case

Pros: everything.
awesome space for my 240mm radiator in the top.
great ventilation for your PSU.
lots of room for hardware inside.
beautiful design.

Cons: LEDs are a little bit too blue. don't exactly match my other white LEDs.

Other Thoughts: response to multiple reviews here:

if you wanted fans in the top, buy some. the description clearly states how many and where the fans are located.

all of you claiming your PSU doesn't fit because screw holes don't line up:
you're putting it in upside down! there is a vent underneath for the fan to suck in air and then blow out the back!
hard to believe people can be this dim.
