Want even more outrageous cooling flexibility? Step up to the 500R. It adds a 200mm fan mounted on the side panel’s mesh screen for extra GPU cooling, a multi-channel fan controller, and removable and relocateable hard drive cages. The ability to move and remove hard drive cages not only improves airflow — it also allows you to install graphics cards of up to 452mm in length.

There’s room for eight PCI-E cards for multi-GPU setups, and even room for a full 240mm radiator for compatibility with the Hydro Series H100 Liquid CPU Cooler and modular watercooling systems. Superior airflow is a requirement for high-performance components that will be regularly pushed to their limits, so the 500R has ten fan mounting points for cooling flexibility. Three 120mm fans (two in the front, and one in the rear) and one 200mm side fan are included, so you’re ready to start building right out of the box.

Superior Cooling Performance Airflow is a breeze with the Carbide Series. Two front-panel intake fans, one rear exhaust fan, and one 200mm side fan are included, and there are a total of ten mounting points (four 120mm, six 120mm/140mm).
Built for Builders High-performance gaming systems need lots of room to work with. With eight expansion slots and up to 452mm in length by removing one of the two hard drive cages (316mm if the cage in place), the Carbide 500R has room for triple-GPU installations for high end system buildup.
Future-ready Support for USB 3.0 and 2.5” SSDs is built-in. Two USB 3.0 connectors are provided on the front panel and connect directly to motherboards with compatible USB 3.0 headers. Integrated SSD support lets you install 2.5” solid-state drives in any of the hard drive bays, without having to deal with adapters.
Multi-channel Fan Controller The multi-channel fan controller allows you to control speed of the fan to regulate the internal temperature and noise level.
Easy Access Thumb screws on the side panels, removable hard drive cages, tool-free drive installation and easy-access backplate cutout mean that you’ll spend less quality time with your screwdriver, and the integrated dust filters can be quickly removed for easy maintenance.
Looking good, Inside and Out. The beauty on the inside goes beyond the black-painted interior. Corsair’s innovative cable management system provides a straightforward way to route cables behind the motherboard, not across it where it can interfere with airflow and give your system a cluttered look. I discovered the Led's can be switched off so I added an extra egg to the overall rating. Cons: This comment is really of my own doing. The motherboard I purchased along with the case was slightly larger that the normal ATX style, so I had to cut away a small section of the case in order to make it fit. The case is solid while still being relatively light. Installation and wire management is a breeze with this case because clearly they've thought of any problem that one could have while building. This case also has a spot on the top that will fit any corsair liquid cooler perfectly. Cons: For some reason there is a firewire port provided on the front panel of this case. Who still uses that? Other Thoughts: At this price, I have a hard time believing that there is a better case than this out there as far as cooling performance and efficiency of installation. 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. For the interior shape, 4 ports to put the discs are virtually canceled, as there is no way to put the connector (no physical space). I built my first computer in this case, and I must stay, it made life so much easier. There is plenty of room inside for easy hardware installation, and the hard drive / optical drive bays are simple to take in and out. Unless you have a very bizarre piece of hardware, this case can handle it all. I installed an after-market air cooled CPU fan, which is a large bulky thing. I was afraid I wouldn't have room, however the case is designed perfectly for this type of thing. I plan on water-cooling soon, which the 500r is well prepared for, with a mount on the top for a dual rad. The overall design and look is stunning, and the white LED fans are a nice touch. Cons: All airflow points are filtered, except for the side panel. What tends to happen is you gather dust in the filtered sections, and easily clean those off, but the side panel lets dust in. I am planning on adding a home-made filter to the side. Because of this, your GPU's are at risk of collecting a lot of dust. Make sure to clean often, and if possible, keep away dust areas!
