Want even more outrageous cooling flexibility? Step up to the 500R. It adds a 200mm fan mounted on the side panel’s mesh screen for extra GPU cooling, a multi-channel fan controller, and removable and relocateable hard drive cages. The ability to move and remove hard drive cages not only improves airflow — it also allows you to install graphics cards of up to 452mm in length.

There’s room for eight PCI-E cards for multi-GPU setups, and even room for a full 240mm radiator for compatibility with the Hydro Series H100 Liquid CPU Cooler and modular watercooling systems. Superior airflow is a requirement for high-performance components that will be regularly pushed to their limits, so the 500R has ten fan mounting points for cooling flexibility. Three 120mm fans (two in the front, and one in the rear) and one 200mm side fan are included, so you’re ready to start building right out of the box.

  • newegg Superior Cooling Performance Airflow is a breeze with the Carbide Series. Two front-panel intake fans, one rear exhaust fan, and one 200mm side fan are included, and there are a total of ten mounting points (four 120mm, six 120mm/140mm).
  • newegg Built for Builders High-performance gaming systems need lots of room to work with. With eight expansion slots and up to 452mm in length by removing one of the two hard drive cages (316mm if the cage in place), the Carbide 500R has room for triple-GPU installations for high end system buildup.
  • newegg Future-ready Support for USB 3.0 and 2.5” SSDs is built-in. Two USB 3.0 connectors are provided on the front panel and connect directly to motherboards with compatible USB 3.0 headers. Integrated SSD support lets you install 2.5” solid-state drives in any of the hard drive bays, without having to deal with adapters.
  • newegg Multi-channel Fan Controller The multi-channel fan controller allows you to control speed of the fan to regulate the internal temperature and noise level.
  • newegg Easy Access Thumb screws on the side panels, removable hard drive cages, tool-free drive installation and easy-access backplate cutout mean that you’ll spend less quality time with your screwdriver, and the integrated dust filters can be quickly removed for easy maintenance.
  • newegg Looking good, Inside and Out. The beauty on the inside goes beyond the black-painted interior. Corsair’s innovative cable management system provides a straightforward way to route cables behind the motherboard, not across it where it can interfere with airflow and give your system a cluttered look. And since looks are an important part of any build, you’ll appreciate the ability to turn the front panel fan white LEDs on or off with the push of a button.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Best

Pros: Big, roomie, build tough, easy access, on/off LED button, fan speed controls, stylish and build in water block support. What more could you ask for? The fans are so quite on low that you can't hear them. I've never owned such a good case.

Cons: None. I wish the black one would go on sale too lol

Other Thoughts: I wanted the black case over the white one, but the sale was too good to pass up.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case but...

Pros: This Case is awesome looking and awesome for performance. It has great airflow and it looks awesome. Very clean looking and the shipping from newegg was perfect. It came very fast with no indents or anything.

Cons: I took off one star because the two front fans do not work and the side fan works but not with LED. I have contacted Corsair and they have not responded for 2 weeks.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case! Functionality and versatility!!!

Pros: -Solid, great design and color scheme, quality materials.

- Multiple fan options/configurations/locations, quality OEM fans, white LED lighting looks nice.

- Dedicated area up top, and designed specifically for clean installation of cooler radiator and fans with quick easy access. Or fans can simply be installed if you don't watercool.

- Case is very versatile, with multiple tool-less HDD bays, removable/configurable HDD bay cages to allow for better air flow and room for a ridiculously long GPU... Tool-less 5.25" (optical drive and such) bays.

- Design allows for neat, versatile wire management and provides a clean appearance/functionality.

- Front panel with 2x USB 3.0, Firewire, headphone + microphone, and OEM fan and lighting controller.

- Lots of space internally for PSU, multiple GPU (SLI or Crossfire) and other components.

- ATX and MicroATX capable.

Cons: - Location of front panel Reset button being underneath fan and lighting controls.

- OEM front and bottom fan filters can be difficult to access when the computer is in it's operating location. For example, on the floor, in a cabinet or such.

Other Thoughts: A great looking, AND great functioning case well worth the cost with lots of functionality and versatility.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding and Durable Quality

Pros: Excellent steel construction, USB 3.0, HD Audio, and LED/Fan controls on front IO panel, and expanded side chassis covers were the first qualities that struck me. Opening the case I discovered plenty of room for the largest Noctua air cooler, a bottom mounted 140mm fan next to a 750w PSU, and room for an additional GPU in the future without worrying about interrupting the bottom fan flow. Airflow in this case is intuitive and easy to optimize with mounting holes for 120mm and 140mm in most of the fan slots (front and drive cage fans excluded). Cable management is made easy with plenty of included ties and mounting/routing locations through out the case. All the PCI slot covers are vented, as well.

Cons: The fan controller indeed connect up to three fans, but the three fans must be Corsair fans with PROPRIETARY connections unique to the case. 3-pin fans are not compatible with the case's fan controller. A side dust screen is not included for the massive 200mm fan so some attention should be given to abating dust. (I ordered a custom DEMCI filter and removed the top fan filter mesh in the meantime)

Other Thoughts: I was considering a C70 Vengeance case before deciding on this model that is decidedly sleeker and subdued 500R. It definitely doesn't evoke the rugged feel of the C70 but such a theme may not be wanted in some settings.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Case, Very Poor Documentation

Pros: Nice Case, Plenty of room. I'd hate to see a full tower if this is a mid. This thing is BIG.

Very Nice design, cool LED's (Front Switch Controls these, and front fan speed)

Cons: The documentation is pathetic. I broke the protrusion that holds the top of the case on because I could not figure out how to remove the top. It was a cheap little plastic nub, so it probably would have eventually failed anyway. I think it is one of those push in to pop out things, but you cant use plastic for this purpose. They did, and it's now broken at one week old. Like a little brass bulb would have broke their bank. The additional fan recommended by New-egg did not actually fit the case correctly, but I made it work with zip ties.

Cases used to come with power supplies, and cost about 50 bucks. Now they come with Zilch, and they are a a hundred bucks or more for something different. Go Figure.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: Great, great, great case! Beautiful design, not too big for a mid case. I've seen other corsiar cases that are mids and this one is the smallest out of all. But! It can hold the largest graphics card on the market and then some! Buttons on front are very convenient (fan control is amazing).

Cons: No cons really. Only thing I could possibly think of is that you can't turn off the fan with the fan control.. Just 3 different settings of on. It's as loud as a small desk fan on low so no probs (shouldn't leave it on overnight anyway, bad for systems).

Other Thoughts: Comes with cool metal sticker to put on case! Side panels come with thumb screws that aren't removable, so no chance of losing them!

5 out of 5 eggspretty

Pros: Case nice to look at. Lights are not too bright which is good. Fits everything I needed to, asus 280x card, which is long. Fit it no problem. Cable management was easy,

Cons: I have one. Not worth an egg. But the side fan doenst come with a long plug, so an 3 pin extension is recommended.

Other Thoughts: Still cant get the fan controller to work, but that's because I don't understand where it plugs in just yet.
