The Obsidian Series 650D is manufactured with strong, stamped steel parts for increased rigidity, and coated in a black textured paint. The front panel features a beautiful black brushed aluminum faceplate to bring a subtle elegance to your next build. In addition to the quality construction, the Obsidian Series 650D comes with excellent cooling as well. A large, black 200mm intake fan hides behind the front dust filter, quietly pushing vast amounts of air over your hard drives and video cards. The air is then exhausted by a second 200mm fan on top of the case, and a rear 120mm fan. The top fan can be replaced by dual 120mm or 140mm fans, and is pre-spaced for a dual radiator if you’re interested in watercooling. And all fans are controlled by a three-mode, four-channel fan controller should you want to make your own choice between noise and performance.

  • newegg Supreme Expandability with 10 Drive Bays Boasting four tool-free 5.25" drive bays as well as six 3.5" SSD-ready drive bays (3.5"/2.5" Drive Caddies), the Corsair Obsidian Series 650D provides plenty of expansion. Plus, eight expansion slots give you tons of room for multiple graphics cards.
  • newegg Great Cooling Performance The Obsidian Series 650D mounts dual 200mm fans and one 120mm fan, which provide outstanding cooling for even the hottest components. It also features an integrated fan controller that lets you quickly adjust cooling performance and noise levels.
  • newegg Cable Routing System The Obsidian Series 650D features brilliant cable routing system which provides a way to keep your system neat and tidy.
  • newegg CPU Backplate Cutout CPU cutout allows for easy installation or removal of CPU coolers, without having to remove the motherboard.
  • newegg Convenient Front I/O The Obsidian Series 650D comes with a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port, four USB 2.0 ports, one IEEE 1394 and 4-channel fan controller on the front panel for convenient access.
  • newegg Other Features In addition to quick-release side panels which make it easier than ever to upgrade your hardware, the Corsair Obsidian Series 650D also features easily accessible dust filters that make maintenance simple and hassle-free. In addition, its adjustable drive cages can be removed and relocated to accommodate large video cards.

5 out of 5 eggsbest case to date

Pros: This case is excellent, has a great layout and PLENTY of room for LOTS of peripherals. the HDD layout is near perfect.

Cons: i wish the top 240 rad grill had a magnetic dust cover like some other products do, this would allow me to use my rad as an intake and not worry about clogging it with dust. but this complaint is not enough to remove an egg

4 out of 5 eggsDecisions, Decisions, Decisions

Pros: Great case. I was choosing between this or the HAF X. I am very happy with my decision.

Cons: Not a lot of room in the back to manage cables.

Other Thoughts: I will have to see how the case holds up in a year or two but I am confident that it will last for many years.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case, Dynamite Looks

Pros: Very well made, tons of unique features, sleek and very elegant looks. Every square inch of the 650D speaks quality. Pay a few $$ more now and have a case you can really be proud of for years to come. I Love the 200mm front intake fan and the 200mm top fan. I have the top fan exhausting straight up out of the case and the standard 120mm rear fan is reversed to provide intake. This setup gives the case positive pressure (more air blowing in than blowing out). If you set your case up for positive pressure you will notice a HUGE difference in the amount of dust that settles on and inside the case. Do as I have done and your build will remain dust & dirt free. Polish the window with a soft cotton cloth and Lemon Pledge. Not only does this shine the heck out of the acrylic, but it takes away static electricity! The latches which make for easy removal of side panels are very high quality and simply awesome. The top HDD slot is so cool for backup and imaging your system drive to a spare drive that does not reside in the case when not being used!

Cons: Still trying to think of some...

Other Thoughts: Several reviewers said there need to be more space behind the mobo. I disagree. The case is wide enough and quite intelligently designed. If you use lots of plastic ties and spend a few minutes working with the cables there should be no problems with room whatsoever. I have 6 HDDs in this case, every expansion slot is filled, 3 of the 4 5.25" external bays used, and a total of 5 fans (2 120mm fans are tied together and sitting behind the HDD cage to pull air through them from the front 200mm intake), and a TX850 PSU, so I had plenty of wires to deal with. As I said, no problems with cable management. Use your head and figure it out! Both of my side panels snap right on and lay perfectly flat against the case as they were designed to do. One reviewer said the air filters need improving. Huh? Hello? I can't imagine them being any better. The one under the PSU just slides in and out very nicely and the one on the front comes off by pushing gently on the two top corners to release it. In addition it has kick-axx good looks! What could possibly be any better than that? Behind the grill work that you see in the pics of this case there is a finer layer of porous material which traps the dust. The case top only has grill, no dust filtering, but, as I said, this case is best set up using the top as an exhaust anyway, so no worries. Also, as I said, if you set up for positive air pressure your dust problems will pretty much go away!

5 out of 5 eggsStill loving it

Pros: I am so glad I decided to invest in a solid case like this one. The amount of room inside this case is just awesome. Additionally, cooling is amazing - the front intake along with my top and back set to exhaust - i have never run into any issues with regards to heat (and the screen on the intake has made dust a non-issue as well). Also, I freakin love the cable management in this case - I can't tell you how many compliments I have gotten from even my non-technical friends about how well managed and clean looking the inside of my computer is.

I will be using this case for a LONG time. I simply love it.

Cons: None.

3 out of 5 eggsGood but go with full tower

Pros: -great look
-filtered intake
-great quality
-compatable with corsair products which are hight quality
-hot-swap
easy access for quick adjustments inside

Cons: -VERY LITTLE CABLE MANAGEMENT
-ONLY ONE FRONT INTAKE
-LEFT PANEL BOWS DUE TO LACK OF CABLE MANGAEMENT

Other Thoughts: -IF THE MONEY IS IN THE BUDGET, GET A FULL TOWER EVEN IF YOU NEED TO BUY EXTENSIONS
-FOR ADDED INTAKE AND AIRFLOW YOU CAN BUY A MESH SIDE PANEL TO REPLACE THE WINDOW WITH ONE 200MM OR FOUR 120MM
-AFTER A WHILE THE LATCHES DONT SEEM AS STRONG

1 out of 5 eggsBuzzing fan

Pros: Case is beautiful and sleek, tons of features.

Cons: Top fan makes a buzzing noise every second no matter what setting the fan controller is set to. I've submitted an RMA request 4 days ago and haven't heard anything from Corsair. Terrible customer service.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: Lots of room, cable management is clean, and runs cool.

Cons: Dosen't come with the front USB 3.0 header. The space behind the motherboard could use a little more room.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tower Case

Pros: If your looking to buy a mid sized case that has great space, this is it. Panels on the sides make the case easy to open for what ever you want to do with it. It's basically a great case plenty of space for wires and room for air circulation.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic case

Pros: Very expandable, easy to work inside, the external SATA drive is fantastic for backing up and restoring things. Its pretty quiet and helps keep things pretty cool.

Cons: Dust filtering could be better.

Other Thoughts: Building machines for decades, and this is probably my favorite every. I plan on using this one for quite some time.
