4 out of 5 eggsvery functional

This review is from: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: -the feet on the case rase it up from the floor well
-metal on the outside except for the front
-front mic and headphone Jacks

Cons: -micro atx standoff slots are incorrect so the bottom right of my board is hanging about
-there are slots for 2 120 mil fans on the top but the left one will have clearance issues due to heatsink and fan

Other Thoughts: There are currently better cases but this isn't that bad

5 out of 5 eggsgreat affordable case

This review is from: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Very affordable
Light weight
Looks great
Good air flow

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have had this case for over 5 years now and I really like it. It is great looking and light weight. I can slide and move as needed. I don't plan to get a new case anytime soon. Over the past 5 years, I have added and rebuilt my computer with the same case. Everything has fit fine and I have had no problems.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor case, would not buy again

This review is from: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Looks

Cons: Motherboard standoff incorrect, construction was poor. 2 front USB ports but only cable to the MB for 1?

Other Thoughts: Purchased a mATX board to go with this case. One of the standoff slots was about 1 inch lower than it needed to be. With the brass standoff inserted, it stood a few mm off the board.

Also whats up with only giving one front USB connection but have 2 ports?!?

Would not buy again!!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent cheap case

This review is from: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: great airflow,

Cons: only air cooler support, a very limited case

Other Thoughts: unless it's a budget build save money buy a better case

4 out of 5 eggsOk for a budget build

This review is from: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Cheap
Blue LED Fan
Many HDD Bays
Dust Filter Over PSU Vent
Small Side Window

Cons: VERY Small Space for Cable Management
Poor Airflow (Make Sure to pick up AT LEAST 1 more fan)
You Have to Rip of the Expansion Slot Covers :/

Other Thoughts: As I said above, make sure you get at least 1 extra fan as an intake. My GPU was running at about 46C while idle... It may also be a good idea to pick up a modular PSU if you don't want a clump of cables lying in the bottom of the case. It is a good case for the money. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for".

3 out of 5 eggsDecent case, a little hasty on construction

This review is from: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Very complete, comes with every screw imaginable
Easy hard drive bay locks, very strong plastic, lasted me 6 yrs
Solid airflow, not a very big case but functional
5? 3.5" bays and 4 5.25" bays, unheard of.
PCI slots in the back are very easy to manage.
USB 3.0 front port headers are nice and HD AUDIO is not at all touched.
Metal construction, fairly sturdy
Insanely cheap esp at the time: bought it for $25 on a sale.

Cons: Front port soldering is very hasty. While audio works extremely well, USB headers will interfere and create very audible static and screeching noises in your audio device. I haven't returned it because of this reason since I use the back ports anyway.
Little stoppers on the bottom fall off easily
Lack of wire management room.
PCI slots can't be reattached, in fact there's too few of these slots
Sound reverberates through out the case, not the tightest fit
I/O slot in the back is not a perfect fit

Other Thoughts: There are a lot of caveats to owning this case, but at the price point it is now, I wouldn't recommend buying it as there are better mid tower cases. The best advantage this case has is the massive amount of drives you can stash in there, and they include these very useful HDD locks that you can just literally hotswap drives with. However, because of this, there is literally no wire management room, and the back can't really taper off any of your PSU wires whatsoever.
It is a fairly small mid-tower case, but still big in respect to mATX cases from DELL and ASUS. The metal construction adds a nice feel to it, the only plastic being the pane and the front, the metal, whilst on the flimsy side, is much stronger than brittle plastic, and at this price point is very nice. The airflow is very good, thanks to many holes in the case, so any positive airflow allows extremely fast cooling. The holes however, do let a lot of dust in if you have negative airflow and lets a huge amount of sound out, although I'm sure this is the consequence of the XFX HD6870 fan.
Pretty much everything is included, besides zip ties, a niec thing to have.
My biggest complaint however, is that the soldering is hit or miss. My friend has this case and does not have this problem, but my case has massive interference between the USB3.0 header in the front and audio bus. Recording will reveal a high pitched screeching when an input device is plugged in and static is always audible when you plug a flash drive in. Not a deal breaker for me as I use the back ports and for $25 it was reasonable to me to have defects but this was a nuisance. Audio bus is high quality otherwise.

4 out of 5 eggsV3 Case

This review is from: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: PRICE, plenty of room for storage devices (bays). I am running four fans. ASUS motherboard, 650 power supply. Two burners, three hard drives.

Cons: The steel seems thin, but has held up great. Extra thin fans only on top. Would like bigger window.

Other Thoughts: For the price can not be beat.

3 out of 5 eggsBent in shipping

This review is from: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Looks great
Easy enough to work with as a beginner
Easy to remove face which was an issue with my old case.

Cons: Bent in shipping
Box had a big picture of a computer on the side which i would say is theft prone
One of the HDD keys broke and when fixed it just didn't work
.

Other Thoughts: Was built alright but still gave off a cheap feel but that was easy to over look being on a budget.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, For The Price.

This review is from: Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Price! Seriously affordable.

Looks great to me.

Plenty of fan mounts (Highly recommend picking up a few extra 120mm fans).

The feet are tall enough to provide decent airflow to the PSU and bottom fan. My last case (Thermaltake V9 Black), sat much closer to the floor.

Cons: Took some creative thinking to get my Corsair H60 mounted... If you're planning on running water cooling (pre-made or custom), you may want to look elsewhere. Even the small'ish radiator for the H60 wasn't able to be installed as a direct fit. But, if you're determined (and have some light fabrication skills) it can be done.

With the motherboard I'm using (Asus Z97-A), it's a very tight fit between the RAM retention clips and the top center fan. If I wanted to remove the RAM, I'd have to remove the fan first to get enough clearance to pop the retention clips down. Depending on your motherboard, you may or may not have this "issue".

Rear screws for the side panels require a screwdriver. Thumb screws would've been a nice touch, but considering the price, I can't really complain.

Other Thoughts: Asus Z97-A
Intel i7-4790
Corsair Hydro H60
Asus Strix GTX 960
Thermaltake TR2 700W
G.Skill Sniper DDR3-1600, 32GB
WD Black 1TB and 2TB
