5 out of 5 eggsBuilders Special

Pros: Have two other cases that are the same brand and model. The Finishes are excellent and allow for plenty of ventilation.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: A Great case for a low cost

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Case

Pros: If you are on a tight budget, this case will not let you down. I was seriously expecting a cheap case.

Cons: The component (HDD, optical drive, etc.) "locks" are completely useless, they do not lock at all. I would advise you to use screws instead. Cable management is sort of hard, but hey, its 40 dollars.

Other Thoughts: The case could use some improvements, but hey, what are you going to get for 40 bucks?

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Budget Case

Pros: Inexpensive, excellent airflow which has lowered all temps by 3 or 4c. Much quieter than my previous case with better thermal performance.

Cons: Feels a little flimsy but for 40 bucks, I can live with it. :)

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive,
Black interior,
Cutout for CPU bracket access,
Good looks,
Has window on side for added bling,

Cons: Inexpensive (flimsy),
cable management poor
upper fan mount placement not compatible with some motherboards

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a budget rig I put together for my nephew. I knew it was an inexpensive case and for the most part you get what you pay for. I bought it on sale with a rebate so it was like $25. Definitely worth that. It has a lot going for it such as black interior, cut-out in motherboard tray and removable back panel so you can swap out CPU cooler without disassembly and the little window on the side. The only thing that was quite terrible was the upper fan mounts. with a Asus M5a97 R2.0 the fans wouldn't clear the top of the motherboard - RAM or CPU power connection. I had to mount them offset from the intended holes by threading through the grill holes, and some didn't quite line up quite straight but it worked out. Also the front panel is somewhat difficult to remove and I'd venture that repeated removal and installation would definitely lead to breakage of the retaining pegs. When I was building the machine I got real annoyed with it and wished I had spent twice as much on something better, but if you have a specific budget and a short motherboard this case works well.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's decent - Good for simple builds

Pros: Lots of drive space
Semi-toolless bays
Decently ventilated
Front panel works

Cons: Some sharp edges
Not enough toolless kits for all bays

Other Thoughts: I bought this case because it was on sale at a local store and I figured for a very simple low end build it would be decent.
About half the drive bays had the toolless attachments, the others simply did not and I had to use screws. Honestly not a huge deal, just a bit misleading. The toolless attachments are pretty secure though. Never had a problem with any of them in my 2+ yrs of owning this.

ONLY the PSU fan ports and front grill have mesh. The rest of the case does not, which honestly isn't a big deal. Those are the only places you really want to be pulling in air anyway. The PSU mesh can ONLY be clean AFTER you remove the PSU, the mesh will be sandwiched between the PSU and case.

The case itself is aluminum, so it bends fairly easily. It's not at all steel so keep that in mind. There are also quite a few sharp edges. I found myself taking an old bike tire and lining it around the edges to prevent the case from cutting any wiring.

Cable management with this case is a bit of a battle. Wiring your 24-pin connector behind the Mobo will result in you using a bit of pressure to hold the back plate of the case on as you screw it in place. That being said, you likely want to wire everything ASIDE from your 24-pin connector behind your Mobo. Airflow is decent.

I designed a small water cooling system, but quickly discovered that this was NOT the case for that. Between the sharp edges and smaller form factor it caused a few problems.
Also of the various motherboards I tried, all sat too high towards the top of the case to allow for the mounting of a fan to the top of the case. So using a all-in-one water cooling system such as a H80 is a no go. Meaning doing any crazy over-locking, you'll be mostly stuck with air cooling unless you mount things externally.

Ultimately the case is decent for a normal, simple, casual build. Doing anything fancy or crazy wouldn't be advised with this case.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
The V3 Black Edition was not originally designed for water cooling. It was designed for a budget build. We do, however, have adapters available which may allow you to mount a 120mm radiator to the rear fan position. Please contact Customer Service for additional information. Additional tool-less clips can also be purchased through Thermaltake.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Great airflow
Looks simple and clean
Allowed me good cable management

Cons: As other reviewers have stated, the top fans will hit the ram and processor heat sink. This is remedied by low profile fans, or, as I did, just stick some 80mm fans up there and it works just fine. Stop complaining people! It's a $40 case, they did a great job and it's a GREAT case for the price! This is not worth removing an egg, what-so-ever! Use your brains and figure it out! I am using every fan slot and air flow is top notch, I did not have a single problem with this case at all!

Other Thoughts: Don't listen to the bad reviews. These people expect everything to work and fit perfectly with no modifications regardless of the fact that these are totally custom machines we're building here, or want to blame the manufacturer for their own lack of compatibility research.

To the reviewers that stated the side vent is useless because it doesn't have screw holes.... SMH!!! The screw holes on the fan line up PERFECTLY with the side vent!

To the reviewers that stated the metal is too thin and flimsy... this case is on par with just about every other case I've ever seen in my 15 years of computing.

3 out of 5 eggsGot the job done

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Cheap

Other Thoughts: Got this for a machine to convert video and use as a home server. All in all for what I paid it gets it done. The top fan vents are useless. The fans won't fit past the ram slots or the rear USB ports. The case should have been 5mm higher to accommodate this. I could get slim fans but they're expensive & that defeats the purpose of getting an inexpensive case. A Corsair H60 did fit on the rear with a lot of force and bending the top of the case a little. The rear expansion slots are breakaway not screw in. The power button doesn't work w/o pressing very hard due to poor design. If you're building a cheap rig it'll do but be ready to work a little.
