Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Antec combines size, quality, features and low price to deliver the ultimate gaming case. The smallest of Antec’s "Hundred" series designed for the do-it-yourself gamer, it is equipped to deal with the increased heat output of high-performance systems as well as providing a flexible design to best suit your needs. Its overall matte-black finish shows that you – and your system – mean business.

The front panel includes a pair of USB 2.0 inputs as well as jacks for a headphone and microphone. The front bezel is perforated for maximum air intake and it has a washable filter to reduce dust within the system. Inside, are a total of nine drive bays – six 3.5in. internal HDD’s and a trio of 5.25in. external drives. Seven expansion card slots let you load up on graphic and other options up to – and including – a full height ATX motherboard. A rear-mounted 120mm TriCool fan as well as a top-mounted 140mm TriCool fan – both with three-speed switch control – draw air through the case.

In addition, there's space for an additional pair of 120mm fans behind the front bezel to cool the HDD’s as well as the option to mount a third 120mm fan on the side of the case to cool the GPU. If you’d rather put your money into what goes inside the case rather than the case itself, the Antec Three Hundred is for you.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Case. (Period)

Pros: I've owned probably a dozen or so cases and worked on hundreds in my life and this is the best. It's modular, everything fits like it should, no sharp edges (you know what I'm talking about), it's not crazy large, has great air cooling, everything about it is easy and just works. I'd recommend to anyone

Cons: It's not crazy large. Lots of the new motherboards, video cards, power supplies, seems like everything is getting bigger and bigger. Except the solid state drives, they're shrinking. This case is not big enough to handle all the monster equipment but it does just find for my personal rig.

Other Thoughts: It's just about the perfect case. I didn't know unicorns existed until I found this one.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Case

Pros: Spacious case, with numerous mounts for additional fans. Dust filters on the front of the case catch many of the bigger particles.

Cons: Price. There are many cheaper cases out there.

Other Thoughts: This is my go to case. I've built dozens of computers with this case. I've yet to find a case I like better.

4 out of 5 eggsGood case

Pros: Lots of room, easy to put in all the hard drives, etc. Very good customer service: easy to contact, easy to work with.

Cons: The front of the case is poorly made, which is why I took off an egg. The front USB ports have failed twice and had to be replaced under warranty. They also don't work for every device. For example, my external hard drive enclosure doesn't work with them, which is inconvenient. I have to get under the desk and plug it into the back.

Other Thoughts: I would consider another Antec case, but more research would have to be done to be sure that the front ports are well made. Perhaps that is why Antec discontinued this version of this model.

5 out of 5 eggsMy favorite case

Pros: Fantastic air flow means quiet computing if you select quiet components. Easy to build, nice and roomy with good old-fashioned screw mounted drives.

Cons: Mounting 3.5" flash card readers requires and add-on kit. Mounting 2.5" drives required additional hardware (except for a single bottom mounted drive in newer cases). Sheet metal isn't as thick as the premium cases.

Other Thoughts: I build PCs for lots of friends and relatives. This has become my standard case. I've built up about a half a dozen of these without any issues. I prefer this case over the newer Three Hundred Two (which I've used a couple of times). My desktop PC is in a more expensive Sonata Solo and I'd prefer one of these.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case that's easy to work in

Pros: Finished edges, user-friendly design & control locations.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This case has been a pleasure to own and use. It houses my always-on components, and is part of a build that is 4.5-5 years old now. The case is finished inside and has not cut me while I've had my hands inside. The front intake (with fan option) allows for a lot of airflow over heat-sensitive components. My next case will be, if not a sound-dampened Lian Li or Silverstone, another Antec.

5 out of 5 eggsUsing same one since Aug, 2010

Pros: I've used this case for 3 builds over 5 years. It now has a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 mobo and sits on an end table to avoid as much dust as possible. I clean the front filter and the added side intake filter every couple of weeks just to be sure the inside is clean. I am keeping the insides as cool as possible with additional 2x120mm front intake fans and 1x120mm side intake fan. This works fine with the EVGA 120-G1-0650-XR 650w PSU and EVGA 02G-P4-3753-KR GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked 2GB GPU and 16Gb RAM, with CPU/GPU temps running very cool. I've had no problems with any of the fans and only had to replace one of the 5 year old Rosewill RFA-120-K fans due to bearing failure and am replacing the almost 6 year old Arctic Freezer 64 Pro CPU fan before it can fail. I've never had a front USB or audio port fail in that time. It is a well built case that has been moved from state to state.

Cons: No cable management.

Other Thoughts: This case was used for my personal computer for a little over a year, then became my son's gaming computer for just under 4 years, There are minor scratches that don't go through the paint and no dents. I will be buying a Three Hundred Two to replace the case of my Dell XPS 8700 for better utilization of space for upgrades, cooling and cable management. I would recommend this product if you want a solid case with room to grow,

2 out of 5 eggsFront USB port fried

Pros: Mobo fits (ASUS Sabertooth 990FX), good spacing for cable management.

Cons: The USB front port stopped working and it was frying my motherboard. As soon as I turned on the computer I got a voltage error message, I disconnected the USB front port and the error disappeared.

5 out of 5 eggsTHE SOLID CASE

Pros: Perfect Case for a solid build with base setup and for a long time. The case is made in hard metal panel . Price is a real joke for the HIGH quality case. Easy to work inside. This is my case for office computer and my Bench Work Computer. I RECOMMAND THIS CASE

Cons: No place face SSD fixation but it's OK I use my brain. No USB 3.0 because it's not a recent case BUT we can replace it.

Other Thoughts: The new revision is cool but the first version is a GREAT SAVING CASE

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the purpose

Pros: I'm pretty new to computer assembly, but everything seems pretty well designed. It was all pretty easy to work with - I also was pleasantly surprised to find 4 SATA cables come with the case. Plenty of extra screws too.

Cons: You kind of have to get creative with cable management. Would be nice to have a USB 3.0 slot in the front, but I think this is an older case. Not enough to knock an egg off.

Other Thoughts: If you install an SSD, the only place to put it (as far as I know) is screwing it on the bottom trey of the case which seemed kind of odd to me. But like I said, pretty new to building computers.
