CM Storm Scout 2 Mid Tower Chassis

The highly anticipated recreation of the benchmark in LAN gamer cases, Scout 2 offers refinements on its predecessor’s design to arrive at a theme steeped in the future of combat. These refinements are bolstered by improved steel reinforced carrying handles, bolted to the core structure. Front console connections have been updated to USB 3.0 while offering protection from adverse travel conditions with hidden sliding cover. Support for current high-end hardware is greatly increased by a removable HDD cage that supports VGAs like the NVIDIA GTX 690 and AMD HD 7990, making the Scout 2 better prepared for all conditions. Scout 2 comes in Midnight Black, Gunmetal Gray and Ghost White color.

BRING THE BATTLE TO THEM
Pickup and go at a moment’s notice. Scout 2 comes equipped with comfortable and durable rubber-lined steel reinforced carrying handles that are bolted directly to the steel frame.
HIGH AIRFLOW PERFORMANCE
Scout 2 can support up to 9 fans for maximum airflow to keep your chassis cool.
REMOVABLE HDD CAGE
The HDD cage can be easily removed to accommodate long high-end graphics cards.
CONVENIENT HIDDEN FRONT PORTS
A quick sliding cover protects your ports against damage from travel and other household hazards. It includes 2 x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 2.0 ports with audio jacks and a LED On/Off switch.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Beast!!!

Pros: Strong, spacious, and sleek.

Handle holds well even with a combined weight of 44.8 lbs.
Interior has plenty of cable management space, as well as airflow for you people using air cooling.
Included fans are ok-ish...

Exterior has angles that make the case seem streamlined, yet rugged.

Cons: Filters?

Neither the side fan mounts, nor the top fan mounts have any real filter for dust, not worth taking off an egg since good dust filters are a dime a dozen.

Also from the the front intake fans tend to produce a pulsing sound when first starting up.

Other Thoughts: Good case for first time builder, casual gamer, LAN parties, and people like me who move their computer around a lot,

5 out of 5 eggs(Nearly) Perfect case for build at hand

Pros: + Excellent airflow
+ Plenty of space behind motherboard for cable management
+ Two red LED fans included (Black model)
+ Excellent symmetrical design, with raised side panels for extra room
+ Includes USB mouse/input device security mesh (looks like an extra PCIe panel)
+ Handle for easier carrying
+ Durability, inside and out
+ Removable drive cages for video card space or extra room inside
+ Raised underside, may still want to place something flat underneath if resting on carpet
+ Handle for added mobility

Cons: - Top fan cover has a mesh, but doesn't seem to do much other than cover the screw holes for the 120mm fans
- Radiator support is limited (my H75 is packed in kind of tight on the only back fan mount)
- Handle is usable, but alone only sturdy for lighter builds
- Fingerprints are pretty noticeable on this case (not a big deal)
- Raised fan mounting screws may cause your left side panel to not shut completely (maybe 2-3 mm away from completely shut)

Other Thoughts: This case went well with the setup I was doing. I removed the top 3.5" drive cage, which was only the back wall of the cage. This opened up a reasonable amount of space to make cable management a breeze. The back side panel has plenty of space around the mid-section (from the RAM slot section of the MoBo to the top of the PSU space) for bulging cables and the sort. I was able to stick two 3.5 HDDs and a 2.5 SSD in here comfortably without the top 3.5 drive cage. The lights are a nice touch to the front of the case. There are plenty of mounting options for 120mm fans. Finally, the handle on top makes it a little easier to carry from point A to point B, I wouldn't rely on it alone though as any build over 30 pounds may cause too much stress on the handle if the case isn't also held from underneath.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: High quality
Heavy
Has handle
Lots of space for everything
Looks awesome

Cons: Upper front fan won't bring more air in since you can only take off one side of the upper hard drive cage.

Other Thoughts: Worth my money.

5 out of 5 eggsbest case ever made

Pros: Built like a tank, lots of fans for high airflow, plenty of space for larger graphics card, great cable management, low price for a quality case.

Cons: no cons in my experience.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this case for over 6 months and it was a drastic improvement over my Lancool case. I use Cooler Master Sickleflow 120 fans and some low cfm fan for exhaust to maintain a positive pressure air flow. This is my case for life, if something happened to it I would buy another one.

System build is 2500K i5 Processor, Corsair Vengeance 16gb RAM, PNY GTX 760 Graphics Card, Asus CD Drive, Crucial 512gb SSD

Temps for my computer running for a week without turning it off.
Mobo - 25° C
CPU - 35° C
SSD - 28° C
GPU - 36°C

5 out of 5 eggsThis case is BAE

Pros: This case is PERFECT. It's fairly cheap and it seems like it could get run over by a tank and be fine.

Cons: One of the legs was a little short. Fixed it with a piece of cardboard.

5 out of 5 eggsReplacement Case

Pros: This case is sleek and provides everything a gamer could want in terms of size (space), cost, efficiency, and portability. The handle at the top makes it way less of a burden to carry to LAN parties.

Cons: The stock case comes with red LED fans. I switched mine out for green fans. There's a red LED strip on the top front I/O panel that I personally don't have the technical skill to change. So not really a con, just that it bothers me when I see the entire system lighted up green and then there's that one red strip.

Other Thoughts: Heavily recommend!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Large size, easily fit everything I had to put in there, including a water cooler.
The handle is sturdy so I can move it around.
Everything was simple to put together and came with more than enough hardware.
Hiding the wires was a breeze and looks very clean.

Cons: It's a bit heavy, but it's not really a con. It's a large case. I expected that.
The instructions could have been a tiny bit clearer.

Other Thoughts: The case was actually the hardest part in my decision to build a computer. It was actually the last thing I purchased. It took me days of research and literally hours to find one I knew I would be happy with. This case had everything I needed and more. I would buy this one again.

4 out of 5 eggsLove this box!

Pros: I love this box.

Great airflow options. Roomy enough for a mid. Lots of rails for drives. Easy to work with. Thumb screws galore! Included front fans (red LEDs which can be turned off with a switch on the front IO panel). Above average cable management.

Cons: A bit on the heavy side when loaded with gear.

Mobo cutout is a skosh too small for CPU cooler backplates, so install it before you install the board.

Limited radiator support... 120s only.

Would be nice if there was at least one SSD mount .

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case with many options

Pros: handle, fan options, filters on bottom, enough room on side to hide cables, convenient holes to route cables

Cons: there is a lower and upper HDD rack. the upper is only semi removable. you can only remove half of the bracket, this is ok if your goal is to add a larger graphics card, but not as much if you are removing the rack for better airflow. you can dremel it out, but then you lose the ability to add HDD's into the upper rack forever. since i dont plan on having more then 3 drives in my PC at any given time i will probably dremel it out once i buy a dremel.

the case has a lot of fan options. i placed clear packing tape over the unsused side panel (inside of case). blue paint tape over the bottom unused panel as well as inside the front grill over the 2 external drive bays i am not using. i also used the tape to go over little holes on the back of the case. this should create better airflow.

the front fans have a semi filter. there is a grill, but not a "filter". a removable filter would have been nice since most people use the front 2 fans as intake.

these are small cons that can be fixed.

Other Thoughts: since its a mid tower case you cannot fit a h100i with fans inside the case. no matter how hard you try it will NOT happen.

not a big deal. my fans are in the case (wanted to hide the ugly noctua nf-f12 fans that i used to replace the stock h100i fans), the RAD outside (on top) of the case. i used 3m to stick the grill onto the RAD to protect it. all is good.

i replaced the 2 front fans with noctua nf-s12a , in case you are wondering you can NOT see the ugly brown through the grill. even with a flashlight you cannot see the color of the fans.
