4 out of 5 eggsnice cheap case

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: I like that you can install 6 fans in this case + whatever fans on your mother board. Its pretty easy to put together.

Cons: I do not like how much room is given behing the motherboard and back plate. There is maybe 1/4 inch to run wires though. I had to bend a piece of metal to allow sata wires to reach hdd/dvd

5 out of 5 eggsStrong, easy to use case

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: Black interior
Bottom-mounted PSU
Fan mounts are plentiful
Best design of quick-locking drive mounts I've EVER used
Plenty of cut-outs and routing for wire management - even comes with zip-ties

Cons: Top fan vents are not compatible with Cooler Master's Seidon 120M
Motherboard stand-offs are of mixed quality
Decorative drive bay covers are sacrificial to remove

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is the best case I've used in a lot of ways. Build quality is excellent, it's not too flashy, it's got nice lines.

The fact that it's not compatible with CM's Seidon on the top fan mounts is worthy of mention, but not of star-knocking seeing as it works just as nicely on the back mount.

The worst part, I gotta say, is the sacrificial decorative plates. I'm really lucky I had a drive for each knockout, because I could find no way at all to pop them out without them bending or twisting. But I still saw no real reason to knock a star for this because you generally don't put those back in once you pull them out.

I'd buy it again, no doubt.

Now if only they'd hurry up with my rebates...

4 out of 5 eggsUpdated review

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: One of the best value and best performing, air coolers out there. Comes with all the hardware you need to install and components all line up correctly and attach smoothly. Looks good sitting there.

Cons: Instructions are a bit unclear. Recommend going on youtube and watching an installation or two. Size can be an issue for both case and motherboard memory placement..
*After around 8 months of use, in a show machine that is cleaned and maintained regularly, the 120 mm fan started making a loud rattling noise which apparently happens alot. Replaced with a Noctua NF-F12, but a bit disappointed that a company I usually trust let me down with a know issue from several revisions of this cooler. You lose a lot of value when you should replace the fan at purchase.

Other Thoughts: Great setup but be prepared with a spare/extra 120mm fan and check room on motherboard for memory clearance and inside case for cooler height.

3 out of 5 eggsNot the best, not the worst

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: This is a pretty good case for the cost, and it looks pretty sleek. It comes with one intake fan with a blue LED on the front of the case and it features a pretty nice side panel. Overall, the case looks pretty cool, and it should have no problem fitting massive graphics cards, up to 12.4 in long.

Cons: Though this case is at a good price, it fails when you look at its competitors in the price range. The case has absolutely no cable management holes whatsoever, plus trying to pack any cables behind the motherboard is very difficult because there is little clearance between that and the side panel.

This case comes with only one fan, an intake at the front of the case. I would have liked to have seen one intake and one exhaust fan at least. You can only fit one fan in the front of the case, which kind of sucks. The NZXT Source 210, for example, a case that is currently $10 cheaper than this one, supports two fans in the front.

Other Thoughts: This is an old case that was not built with the same purpose as cases now such as the NZXT Source 210. If I could rebuild my PC again, I would get another case, like the 210 or Corsair 200R. You should do the same.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Case

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: Great case, has a lot of places for fans for intake and exhaust. I love the bottom mounted power supply.

Cons: I have ordered 2 of these cases. The first one worked great. The 2nd case was missing one of the grills for the 5.25 inch bays and the headphone port on the front doesnt behave and has constant problems.

Other Thoughts: Great case, hit or miss on QC

4 out of 5 eggsA Good Case

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: This is nice case, especially for the price. I am currently using on my rig. It is a CoolerMaster so you know it will good.

Cons: The only complaint that I have is that I cant store my wires and such in the left side panel, causing my computer almost unmangable on the inside.

Other Thoughts: I have a PSU that came off of a server build. So the fact that I have like 50% more wires that a normal PSU doesn't help the clutter. But the fact that I cant clean it up by putting the wires in the left side panel is an even bigger pain.

4 out of 5 eggsCompact

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: I love the addition of the clear side panel to be able to see my system while the overall size is very nice and compact leaving lots of room on my desk to work with. It's also pretty sturdy for its looks.

Cons: As for cons...I was honestly not expecting it to be so small, haha.

It left me with little room to work with for most of my connections and my graphics card (and I've been using a single GeForce 560 TI so nothing too crazy there), The wires from the power supply all feel cramped near the hard drive and bottom portions of the inside; some were even extremely close to my heatsink so I was forced to tie them up so they wouldn't touch anything while the system was running.. Make sure you put into account the size of this case and what will be put in it. (I'm probably going to have to upgrade to a bigger one soon).

Other Thoughts: Great case for a nice low- mid end PC :)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: 4 years and running!
cool side panel
big
everything fits nice

Cons: have to keep the inside looking nice

Other Thoughts: Have been using this with in first build at college* since March 2011. I moved the blue led fan to the back of the case and put a normal fan up front to make the interior more blue. Works as expected and looks cool.

3 out of 5 eggsA good case for the money

This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 430 - Mid Tower Computer Case with All-Black Interior and Windowed Side Panel

Pros: Mostly solid metal construction with some plastic parts. Nice blue LED fan in front. The standoff positions for the motherboard (both ATX and mini ATX) are imprinted on the case and are therefore easy to find. The cables are clearly marked for motherboard connections. When it arrived, the cables were secured with wire ties. Although cable ties are also supplied, I prefer to reuse the wire ties, as they are quicker and easier. Plenty of additional screws are provided for the motherboard, and add on cards. An additional 4 black screws are also provided for the power supply, so they match the color of the case. The 3 5.25" & 5 3.5" bays have quick install/release panels, but only two are provided for each, even though only two quick locks are provided for the 5.25 and two for the 3.25.

Cons: Instructions suck. It is nothing more than diagrams in several languages showing where to place certain items. EG: Power Supply, Motherboard & Add on cards.
No detail at all. Fortunately, most people buying a case have previous experience building a computer and can easily figure things out, but I would not recommend this case for a first time builder. The internal speaker and cable provided was very short and ended up resting on the power supply. The fan cable provided was extremely short and you have to use the provided adapter to connect directly to the PSU, instead of the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Although the PSU is located on the bottom of the case, it negates the lighted fan provided in many PSUs, as was my case. Quick locks should be provided for all available bays, not just 2 of each size. The fan cable should be at least 12" longer so it can reach the motherboard and take advantage of fan control.
