Cooler Master HAF X Full Tower Chassis

The case that is held up as the benchmark for full towers, HAF X has remained the flagship of the highly popular High Air Flow Series (HAF). Its rugged militaristic design offers a tough casing that provides outstanding protection while providing an unprecedented ease of use when it comes to building and managing a complex and powerful system. This extends to support for the latest graphics cards and components.

The HAF X can handle up to four full length graphics cards.
Using micromesh filters located in the front bezel, top exhausts, side panel, and bottom floor, the HAF X is resistant to dust buildup.
A high airflow design strives to eliminate overheating with Large 200 and 230mm fans that spin at lower RPMs to ensure high Airflow without high noise.
There are two X-Dock bays at the front that are compatible with up to two 3.5” or 2.5” drives.
Two front ports are USB 3.0 and compatible with SuperSpeed USB. The HAF X ports are backwards compatible with USB 2.0.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

Pros: Ok, so I've owned this case which has got to be pushing around 3-years, I have changed the fans to more enthusiast friendly after the 3rd year (original still worked fine and quietly) kept it clean from dust and built an AMD/Radeon build and am now running Intel/Nvidia. An amazingly durable machine I have moved it to Lan parties and carried it from City to city as I moved alot, it has stood the test of time and still comes back, although I am now looking to go mid-size/bench I will still hold onto this machine for future ideas. Oh, and fits dual gpu's and a big Noctua Dh-14 easily, cable management was easy to hide as well!
-Fits almost anything
-Very nice cooling system
-Many storage slots and easy to use
-looks awesome

Cons: -Heavy? C'mon toughen up!
-Large fans have a tendency to be noisy although I haven't had such issue myself.
-front usb panel gave me an issue, contacting CoolerMaster however resolved the issue, Great company.

Other Thoughts: Coolermaster have made an amazing tower, I'm glad I purchased it and its kept my setup running cool and strong for years! Oh and people compliment its size (^_~)

4 out of 5 eggsIt's pretty cool, but lack of LEDs.

Pros: -Air flow

-Very easy to assemble.

-Nice material/finishing.

-General design. Looks pretty cool.

-Lots of optional accessories that came with the case.

Cons: -No fancy LED lights. The only LED is from the front mounted fan.

-All of the optional accessories do not fit in.

-Side fan was having contact with the metal dust net on the side panel, they were making noises. I have to loosen all the fan screws in order to make some space between them.

Other Thoughts: I thought it came with two upper fans. But after carefully read the spec, one is actually optional... So I guess next time I would read more carefully.

The case is so tall with the wheels underneath, and it is pretty tall without the wheels. I had some trouble sliding the case under my desk.

4 out of 5 eggsGood case, bad wheels

Pros: Great airflow, space for upgrades, a solid and futureproof case.

Cons: The top mount for fans can be difficult to remove, as well as the front dust filter, but those are minor.

The wheels are easily broken and near impossible to find good replacements for. You may want to find third-party case feet to replace the wheels should they break, because Cooler Master almost never has them in stock for replacement.

3 out of 5 eggsA case stuck in the past

Pros: Everyone has listed pros

Cons: I'm simply going to list what fell short with this case.

The HDD bays feel cheap and swapping out hdds a lot made the rubber break on the toolless mounting.

The GPU fan mount is a joke. I went to install it and realized it only covers my bottom GPU instead of both of them. Sadly it's the only way to mount a 120mm fan onto the HDD cages.

Stock fans aren't that great. The 230 in the front isn't enough to push air through the HDD bays. There is only a mount for the 230, a 140 or a single 120 on the front. I had to use packing foam as a modd to put dual corsair sp120s in the front.

Dust filters are a joke too. Front cover comes off but stuck to the grill so it's harder to clean. PSU filter is stuck under the PSU so you need to completely remove the PSU to clean it. No dust filters on top. Side panel dust filter doesn't come out which means you need to completely remove the fan to clean it.

In this day an age no one needs 5 x 5.25 bays. It wastes room. Would have loved to see a mountable 120 or 140 here instead to push air from the front directly to the CPU which I did with another foam mod.

Cable management is lacking. DIdn't have enough loops for my liking in key areas.

CPU cut out was off so I have to remove my whole motherboard if I need to swap the heat sink.

There is a hole at the bottom of the case but no mounting holes to blow air from the bottom to the top.

Other Thoughts: This case just feels dated. I bought it under recommendation but the more I upgrade and perfect my system the more the case fights me.

4 out of 5 eggsFavorite case

Pros: Plenty of cooling and room to expand.

Cons: The front USB 2.0 ports fell apart.

Other Thoughts: Be aware it's a monster of a case!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case, quality needs some improvement

Pros: Great airflow, easy cable management. I waited 5 years before buying this case (since my last build), and from the case point of view, it was worth it.

Cons: One of the sound connectors was badly damaged on arrival. Parts were back ordered, so took quite a while to get a replacement

Also, after about 2 months, one of the fans developed a ticking noise. I'm waiting for a replacement now.

Other Thoughts: From a purely case point of view, I'd give this 5 stars, I subtracted one because of the quality, and the length of time to get a replacement part.

5 out of 5 eggsBuild #2 with Haf X

Pros: I absolutely love the space that this provides me with in my builds. The options to add more fans and enough space for Water cooling. This thing is HUGE! Front USB 3.0 and Sata. My favorite part is the Hot swappable slot in the front for my hard drives. I have had this for 4 years and building a new rig and picking one up again.

Cons: Wheels are cheap plastic but I rarely ever move my rig. When I did move it I forgot to unlock the back and they broke, snapped right in half and now just sit on a half wheel. Was my mistake so no eggs removed. But spending this much for a case they should really have metal wheels.

Other Thoughts: Build #2 with this case, Will never buy another case unless I have too because they stop selling this one.

5 out of 5 eggsLots of space! Its Huge!

Pros: Space definitely! More than enough room for all the components/multiple GPU's etc. The cable management works out great leaving it neat and unrestricted as far as air flow is concerned. Comes with 3 big fans with spaces for more if you like.

Cons: Really although the space is a definite plus, it is a little too big for most desk top placement etc in my opinion, I can't fit it comfortably either on-top of my desk where my old one was or underneath due to the height.
Also due to the size having a bottom mount PSU makes it a tight stretch for the power plug to the mother board at the top

Other Thoughts: Over all I like it and it is by far the cleanest case I've had as far as cable management

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lots of room. Quiet. Looks awesome.

Cons: Price. HDD trays. Filters.

Other Thoughts: This case is huge. You won't find yourself wishing for a bigger case. Although it's not without it's flaws.
First the filters. The front filter is easily removed for cleaning, while the side and bottom ones are not. For the price, the filters could have been better.
The hdd trays use pins instead of screws, which would have been great if they actually fit any of my hdds. I had to remove the pins and put screws in.
These problems can be overcome fairly easily though. Overall it is a very wonderful case.
