2 out of 5 eggsWorked for 2 years

Pros: Cherry MX switches

Cons: After 2 years of use, several individual keys stopped working. USB connection was not very good. Based on other user reviews, lifespan seems to be at 2 years.

2 out of 5 eggsUSB problems

Pros: worked great for 2.5 years, then started to break down

Cons: after 3 years of use, usb started to lose connection. any little movement of keyboard would cause it to stop working, would have to wiggle wiring for 10 minutes to get it going again. the keyboard was kept in good shape, barely left my desk
this is a common problem with these keyboards, after opening the keyboard, you can see that the USB port was never secured to the circuit board and was only held in place by the tiny wires

Other Thoughts: spent $90 for a keyboard to barely last 3 years

2 out of 5 eggsupdated review.

Pros: well, it lasted just over 2 years, and worked well until then.

Cons: shortly after my original review, i started having some issues with the keyboard being completely unresponsive. it would take several seconds to start responding again, or sometimes would only respond after i replug it in.

4 out of 5 eggsnice keyboard

Pros: been a fantastic keyboard for over two years now. (original purchase date 6/5/2012) exactly as advertised, and no keys have even started going bad.

im a nerd that spends at LEAST 6 hours a day on my pc, so its holding up quite well.

Cons: the reason i didnt give this 5 stars is because of the usb connector to the keyboard. when i bought this keyboard, i figured the people saying the usb connector was bad were people that were constantly replugging it for whatever reason.

however, i have not once removed the usb connector, and it still seems to be incredibly weak, the connection is loose, and you can see this in the num/caps/scroll lock lights, just touching the cable will make it flicker, or get bright, or nearly turn off completely. even just slightly moving the keyboard has the same effect.

keep in mind the keyboard has in fact worked the entire time, and this issue has never caused any problems at all, which is why i still gave it 4 stars, i just feel uneasy about it and wish the connection was a little stronger.

Other Thoughts: i would still buy another one if this one ever died, if i could find it on sale. the price seems to have gone up since i bought mine, but it might have been on sale, 66 dollars at the time.

im not entirely sure if they have fixed the usb problem since then, but it is possible.

5 out of 5 eggsA brilliant keyboard for the price point

Pros: This keyboard met and exceeded all of my expectations. I got it on sale, only paying $64 for it at the time (this was in November 2012). Since then, it's worked perfectly for me - as an 8+ hour per day user, I've been pleasantly surprised at its durability. The keycaps still are very clearly printed, and there are no mechanical issues whatsoever. After one year, every switch is still in great shape - just like the day I unboxed it.

As a pretty hardcore gamer (lots of DotA and StarCraft 2), I put this keyboard through a lot and it's handled everything I've thrown at it with no issues at all.

Cons: The caps/num/scroll lock LED's work TOO well. At night, I can't look down at my keyboard lest I be completely blinded.

Other Thoughts: I don't know whether I got lucky or whether I just abuse my keyboard less than the negative reviewers, but I have literally had zero issues with this keyboard. I would recommend it without hesitation.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Mechanical Cherry MX Red switches are great. Feels great to type on (key caps are left to be a little less desired...read cons). Love the sound of each key bottoming out. They bottom out effortlessly which is great for gaming. Double tapping a key is really easy.

Easy to transport with the removable cable.

Cons: One of my number keys on the num pad stopped working within a year (warranty just ended so cannot RMA...unfortunately).

Key caps are ABS instead of PBT. They have a sleek feel that I do not really like. I like a softer key cap like that of the Corsair K70.

Would like it if keys were spaced a little further apart like the Corsair K70 as well. I find myself accidentally hitting keys next to the one I press due to the low actuation force required to register a key press.

1 out of 5 eggsKeys randomly stop working

Pros: Cherry switches were nice and the keyboard has a good feel to it.

Nice discount too, despite the short lifespan.

Cons: The keys seem to randomly stop working. After a month or two of use, the 3 key died, meaning I'd have to copy+paste if I wanted a #. It just sat on my desk so the connections must have come undone or something.

After that it was others around it started to go too, but would start and stop functioning at random times.

I would've been OK with just the one key breaking but once it affected 5 other essential keys it was time to scrap the whole thing. Too unreliable.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I just got a bad keyboard.

It was good while it lasted (even with the broken key), but wasn't very long and so not worth the cost even with the discount.

3 out of 5 eggsBottom of the Barrel Mechanical

Pros: Cheap
Mechanical

Cons: Not recognized at boot.
Key lettering wearing off after two weeks of usage.
Case is too tall and legs are too short.

Other Thoughts: This is certainly a bottom of the barrel mechanical keyboard. It works, but skimps on design to save money. The lettering is wearing off after only two weeks of consistent usage. The front of the case is too tall causing the overall slant of the keys to still be near flat even with the legs extended. The height of the case gets taller towards the back making some keys awkward to hit naturally.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap.

Pros: Mini USB connector is still working.Keyboard does its job and types.

Cons: About 3 months into owning this keyboard keys are starting to fail. Shoddy manufacturing they fixed one issue but more are showing up.

Other Thoughts: Worked great until the certain keys stopped working months into owning it. I read the reviews on this before I purchased and I'm starting to really regret buying it. It's kinda like buying a Car only to have engine blow up 10k miles down the road. I'm waiting to see what kind of warranty/return policy Rosewill has before I pass any further judgement. If anything I expected the keyboard to work at least a full year before anything would go out on it, but proven wrong.

2 out of 5 eggsgood keyboard...doesn't last though

Pros: keyboard worked great...

Cons: but in under a year the W key essentially failed.

Not even sure how this happens with a mechanical switch but I'm going to reach out to Rosewill for a replacment...if they won't replace it I'll never buy another Rosewill thing again...will update when I hear back.
