5 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL.FTW

Pros: Solid design, stability, performance, aesthetics, etc. I bought the 2x4GB pair over a year ago when I custom built my first PC, and just the other day bought the identical same pair to bring total RAM up to a respectable 16GB. No compatibility problems despite using year old RAM.

Cons: None really. Watch out for those jaws! Installing 2 sticks is less daunting than 4 sticks, but then again I'm relatively n00bish regarding custom builds.

Other Thoughts: So many what-ifs popped up while I was building my computer. Some issues did arise, but none involving RAM. This stuff is built for people like me - just starting to get their feet wet - as well as advanced users who already know they're paying for quality and stability. And a lifetime warranty thrown on top. Go team G.SKILL.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Built with a flashy heat-sink, the Ripjaws have one of the coolest aesthetics of all the RAM out there. It can handle the extra voltage, should you want to get more out of it.

Cons: I had a callous on my thumb because said aesthetics and a stubborn memory slot..

Other Thoughts: If you're building a new box from scratch, always save the RAM for somewhere around the end of your construction. Chances are the price will go down drastically.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

Pros: Bought these for my first build, worked great for about the first nine months. Started getting BSOD on occasion, Mem Test 86 revealed plentiful corruption on one stick. Used the LIFETIME WARRANTY to RMA that one while the second one kept my system running fine. Got a new stick free of charge.
On putting the new one in, I didn't get it fully in (fault of me and the motherboard) and ended up burning one contact. Sanded it down a bit and haven't had any problems since. Been working great for 2+ years after that.

Cons: None to mention.

4 out of 5 eggsGood ram, I may of just had bad sticks

Pros: I bought this RAM when I first got my budget PC for half the price it is now, and at the time it was an excellent buy. I bought another set after my first set died just after a year

Cons: I bought 2 sets of these, both 2 x 4gb, and both have died for me just after a year, but G. SKILL has a lifetime warranty which I wish I would've noticed sooner.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory works well in your system. It is strange modules have become defective, but don't worry, all G.Skill memory kits are backed by a lifetime warranty. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. Send the memory in to us and we can have them replaced right away. The G.Skill RMA process is quick and hassle free, so your computer can be back up to full speed in no time. Once you get the new RAM back, you can have 16GB working flawlessly in your computer. If you never use more than 8GB, you can always create a RAMdisk to allocate 8GB as a storage device. 2 out of 5 eggsDOA on arrival

Pros: The one stick that worked worked great!

Cons: The other stick crashed my computer three times. And only registered as half of the RAM that it was supposed. I am assuming dead zones on the stick.

3 out of 5 eggsNot so Good

Pros: One Stick worked excellent

Cons: one of of two sticks DOA, and to return since they were a matched pair

Other Thoughts: Have used this product before, but this time just got a bad stick out of a matched pair so returned for credit and ordered another pair so I wouldn't have to wait so long on the turn around. The second pair seems to be working just fine.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: What needs to be said here? Rarely do we see computer parts that are built well, do the job they claim, have easy installation, and *just work*. These are them. Fast, cool, low maintenance. Can't go wrong.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsGreat when they're working

Pros: They work great as soon as you can get them installed correctly. No problems if you have sticks that aren't dead when you receive them.

Cons: I've purchased two sets of these now, for a total of four sticks, and so far only two sticks are working for me. The first time I ordered, it didn't really bother me that one of them wasn't working, so I just left it to gather dust in my room. But now that's it happened a second time I had to say something. I've tried putting them in one at a time with my other sticks and again by just themselves. No matter how I try, those two specific sticks won't work. I can only assume their faulty.

Manufacturer Response:
