3 out of 5 eggsnot working memory older mobo

Pros: 8 gb ram

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: I had F3-10666CL7D-4GBXH 4gb (2 x 2gb) Gskill Ripjaws X (dated 2013) in system and wanted/needed to upgrade to 8gb. These 8gb (2 x4gb) (dated 2014) not recogognized by mobo (no post or beep). Tried single stick to no avail. Returned for same as original mem in 8gb size F3-10666CL7D-8GBXH. mobo ASUS p5g41t-m lx (8gb max) with latest bios and tried clearing cmos and adjusting mem settings in bios prior to swap even though shouldnt have to being set to auto.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. For some older motherboards, they may have issues with the latest DDR3 RAM. Don't worry, we will be glad to help with this. Contact the G.Skill RMA dept. and they can swap for RAM that is compatible with your system. We will make sure 8GB is working fast and stable in your computer.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM and excellent RMA process

Pros: Ran at advertised timing
Nice heat sink design
Compatible with MSI 785G-E53 w/ Phenom II X4 955 with slight overclock @ 3.4GHz

Cons: None really, aside the prices of RAM went up from initial purchase

Other Thoughts: The ram kit started to go bad after about 4 years of usage very heavy usage. The computer would have weird and erratic performance (random BSOD errors). Eventually the unit would consistently BSOD every hour. Ran Memtest and one stick of the kit went bad. OS thankfully was not corrupted. Contacted G.Skill and submitted the RMA form with a very detailed description on what was going on and within 24 hours I had an RMA number. I was then able to ship the RAM to their RMA center in CA using USPS (less than $3 to ship from HI) and within 2.5 weeks, I got my replacement RAM.

I had no problem or complication dealing with G.Skill throughout the process of the RMA. Would definably buy G.Skill again.

5 out of 5 eggsgood value

Pros: Booted up without issue on first boot. Came bundled with a MSI H81-P33 board.

Cons: Red doesn't go to well with a blue themed build/motherboard, but for the price of the bundle I couldn't pass it up.

5 out of 5 eggsMemory

Pros: Gskill great memory for budget minded builder, very reliable . am a loyal Gksill memory user used it in my first build for 6yr worked just as expected ....

Cons: purchased some gskill memory that wasn't compatible with my Asrock FM2a88x Extreme 6 board but after much research i found that the memory wast intended for Intel board....

Other Thoughts: i think Gskill should state which memory works with what board...or design memory just for AMD Boards and INTEL Memory just for them to stop the confusion and guess work.

5 out of 5 eggsGood reliable RAM

Pros: First pair I got are still running three years later, so I bought a second set to expand. Never had any RAM issues and they've lasted much longer than I could really hope. A good option for a home user interested in reliability imo.

Cons: None really

5 out of 5 eggsAttractive, compatible & reliable memory

Pros: Cost less than Crucial memory and perform just as well. I also like the futuristic, cutting-edge design. They slid in easily into the memory slots. I would recommend these over Crucial. You save at least $10. With my AMD 8 core CPU, they remain below 60% memory usage even during peak performance.

Cons: Can't think of anything really.
