3 out of 5 eggsLived only as long as its warranty

Pros: Great PSU, Simple did the job well while it was in the land of the living.

Cons: Short CPU 4/4 power wire.
Died after roughly 3 years of powering a Pentium D and a 9800gtx and took the 9800 with it...

Other Thoughts: I can't really complain that it died shortly after its warranty was up... But I honestly expected better from Corsair. There wasn't even that much draw on it.

I would not recommend the Corsair CX series to anyone. 3 years or not a PSU should be the most dependable part in your computer.

My advice, spend a couple extra bucks and get a SeaSonic. Even if its for a cheap machine.

1 out of 5 eggsSeveral bad Corsair CPUs in a row

Pros: none

Cons: I have a total tdp system of about 250 watts. This power supply couldn't handle it from day one. There just isnt enough power for the most basic core 2 duo rig. Also, the high pitched humming noise when its turned off is unbearable.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted about a year

Pros: Lots of cables.

Cons: Dead after about one year of light use.
Corsair also found a way to screw me out of the rebate.

3 out of 5 eggsNot very happy

Pros: This is my first computer build. The power supply worked great for the first three months. It's quiet. I thought everything was great.

Cons: After three months my computer just went off and I smelled something burning. It was the power supply so I started the warranty rma process. I reported it on June 13. On June 21 I was finally notified that they have received the part and I should allow an additional 5 days (I suppose on top of the 3-5 days it originally said) for them to process it because they are currently behind on their replacement returns. So, 7 days for them to receive it, 8-10 days to be processed and check, then another 7 to get it back? Meanwhile, for this 24-28 days my new awesome computer sits with no power. I realize things happen but I think their warranty service leaves a lot to be desired. On top of it all, $15 to send it to them for them to honor their warranty.

Other Thoughts: Since they have stated how behind they are in their replacement warranty service, I worry that their power supplies are commonly failing and that this may happen to me again. :(

1 out of 5 eggsGreat except the rebate

Pros: The PSU is a great product and nearly silent, very well built product. I can't say enough about a reliable power supply.

Cons: The website says my $15 rebate is approved but I won't get it until mid June. Come on guys 3+ months for a $15 rebate, what kind of scumbag company are you? I paid you immediately so why do you get to hose me? I buy lots of computer hardware and now CORSAIR is off my list.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 500W is good enough for most computers.
Fan is VERY quiet, can hardly tell that the thing is on.
Long cables are nice for easy installation. Sleeves also help a lot to keep things organized.
Works great so far no problems.

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsA Rock!

Pros: Bought this to power an older box, but I've since invested in newer components. It's still powering an older 9800GTX, but with the amps on the 12v rail, it could easily handle something way more substantial.

I've had no issues with this PSU at all. It installed great, I had all the connectors I needed and the system it's installed on is very stable, no crashes.

Cons: I see none. It's quiet, runs cool and provides the power you need. All of my four systems run Corsair PSU's now; what a wonderful line of products.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg exceeded my expectations by shipping same day on a late order. Love'm!

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Newegg RMA is easy

Cons: DOA and I had to spend $15 to return it. Come on Newegg it was DOA I shouldn't have to pay to return it.

Other Thoughts: I bought an Antec PSU instead
