2 out of 5 eggsmeh.

Pros: Second best ATI card on the market. Behind the 4870 X2.

Cons: Fan can get VERY loud at Higher temps.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a good card for WoW look for something else. Card can't handle max settings on a 1920 x 1200 Resolution. Have them on WoW standard, "Good" setting with only 1x Multisampling and the image still tears and freezes a little every now and then.

2 out of 5 eggsNeeds aftermarket heatsink

Pros: Previous price was decent and performance was good until the fan died and temps skyrocketed to 100C, creating BSOD's.

Cons: The stock fans commonly die at a high rate with this vga card.
Customer service is slow, RMA's are very slow: 4 weeks and no card.
The price of this card is now a joke, not competitive at all.

Other Thoughts: There are some good aftermarket coolers for this card but they cost between $30-50. and if you add that to the price of the card you could of had a GTX280 or a 4870 1G from a different manufacturer.

The stock fan was a terrible choice by Asus. Look elsewhere.

3 out of 5 eggsMake sure you change the fan

Pros: The card will give you the fps as advertised. Average swings of 35-55 fps when playing Fallout 3 at 1920x1200 (didn't remove the fps cap or maxing out Anti-aliasing). Bottom line, it does it's job for a decent price.

Cons: First thing that has to go is the fan. I'm definitely a noob when it comes to computers so I was wondering why my system kept shutting down during game play. I finally checked ATI catalyst and saw that my temps were 99 Celsius at idle. After playing games, my temps would go over 114.

Other Thoughts: I installed an Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo Cooler on the card. All my problems have vanished and my temperatures idle at 37 and peaks at 42. Much better than before. Installation of the cooler was much easier than I thought. Rubbing alcohol is a pain to find in Korea, so I used vodka to rub out the old thermal grease. Don't hate me too much, I had to make due with what's on hand.
Bottom line: Buy this card if it has a good rebate on it and if you have the time to replace the stock cooler.

1 out of 5 eggsGood card, bad manufacturer

Pros: When the card works, it performs well, there was nothing I couldn't play on max. detail, including Far Cry 2, Crysis games, CoD4, Source engine games. My PC is a E8400, 4GB DDR2 800, Vista 64 Home Premium.

Cons: The fan died after 6 months, just like the rest. This is ASUS's fault for not making the card properly, NOT ATI/AMD.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, it's ASUS's fault for not making the card to the right spec. If you want a 4870 (which is an amazing card) don't buy an ASUS branded one.

1 out of 5 eggsBig Mistake

Pros: The only pro that I could possibly give is and if or maybe when it works it is pretty fast.

Cons: Lasted about a month and a half. HOT HOT HOT. 1st RMA took a week just to get RMA, 2 day UPS card in for it to sit for 5 days before response. Another 8 days before card came back. Get this IT LASTED 24 HRS NOT DAYS BEFORE SHUTDOWN!!! Still waiting on the 2nd RMA, don't believe that 48hr bull. Looks like it will take the full time of warranty to get a card that works.

3 out of 5 eggsFan finally died like the rest

Pros: Lasted three months.

Cons: Didn't last more than 3 months.

Other Thoughts: Posted 2x prior with 5 stars prior to the end of the fan working. I booted, watched the fan not working, while watching HWMonitor vga temps running from 50C on up to 101C before shutting down.
I removed the card and all connectors are fine and the card is HOT. Dead. Time to RMA. This card might be fine with an aftermarket HSF on it, but look elsewhere.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Fast video card. Copper heatsink -LOOKS- topnotch for a short while until the fan dies.

Cons: Like many other people who have this card, the fan died in about 2 months. No wonder they don't sell this now, the heatsink is a piece of dookie. When I think ASUS, I expect great quality but my expectations have now lowered.. and I laugh at most of these responses by ASUS suggesting to look at their troubleshooting guide and all that nonsense.. bad GPU cooler is bad GPU cooler. They messed up on this one.

Other Thoughts: I am replacing the fan on this one, supposing that the video card wasn't damaged by the overheating.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs great, great fps on all of my games, Runs Assassins creed at 1600x1200 with 45+fps with all settings maxed out *no aa*
Its quite quiet, and I have not had any heating issues.
List of games + preformances (Continued in other thoughts)
Halo 2 Vista: 60+fps 1600x1200 All Settings maxed, 4xaa
Gears of War PC: 60+fps 1600x1200 All settings maxed out (Both on dx9 on xp, and dx10 on vista) Without AA
Fallout 3: 60+fps 1280x1024 All settings maxed out (Though small incompatibilities, due to the games bugginess, and lack of optimization in some areas, I'd recommend 1028x756 for most users)
Bioshock: 1600x1200 All settings maxed *demo* 60+fps on DX10.1 no aa
Crysis: 35+fps All settings maxed, 1028x756 (this was w/ my old motherboard and processor, This is just there for some curious people)
TES4:Oblivion: 60+fps 1280x1024 (35+fps 1600x1200) All settings maxed out + Graphics improvement mods, no AA
Half life 2 EP2: 60+fps 1600x1200 8xMSAA All settings maxed

Cons: Virtually none, Except like most ATI cards, there are odd incompatibilities with Fallout 3 unless you rename fallout 3 to oblivion.exe Which works great :)

Other Thoughts: Ive had this card since October 10 2008, And I've had no problems whatsoever, No heating issues, but the ATI self tuning overclocking program seems to aim it a bit too high, and for SOME games it will cause problems.
Heres a list of games I have + all info needed (Cont.)

Portal: 75+fps 1600x1200 8xMSAA All settings maxed
Team Fortress 2: 65+fps 1600x1200 8xMSAA All settings maxed
GarrysMod 10: 100+fps (Hugeflatconstructbeta) 1600x1200 8xMSAA (No graphical addons)
Guitar Hero III 1600x1200 60+fps (AA would be added if GHIII allowed it)
CoD: WaW 45+fps 1280x1024 4xAA all settings maxed
Left 4 Dead: 60+fps 1280x1024 no aa, all settings maxed
Counter Strike: Source: 80+fps 1600x1200 6xMSAA All settings maxed
Hope this helps all of you guys!
Good luck with the card!

Cons: Fan died less than 3 months after purchase.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this piece of junk.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent card for the price

Pros: Good bang for the buck.
Plays COD4 full settings @35 fps with stock gpu/mem clocking!
Small enough to fit in my mid-tower
Runs Furmark 1680x1050 @50fps

Cons: This thing could heat your freakin house all winter long.
Stock heat sinks and fan are a joke.
Idles @56c Fully loaded@ 93c.
Case ambient temp sits at about 27c , loaded and unloaded, so I know I have good air flow.
Don't bother with overclocking. Even the newest drivers and software lock up at only 110%.

Other Thoughts: If your gonna buy this card get the one with the quad-heat pipe design. Runs way cooler.
