Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Works Great!
Pros: Two year warranty. Works great with Windows XP & 7. I haven't tried 8 but, it is listed as supported and I do not anticipate any problems.
Cons: 192.168.2.2 default IP address.
Other Thoughts: I hooked this up to my old HP LaserJet 4 Plus printer. I used a cross-wire cable to reconfigure the default IP address. I did not install the configuration program but, instead used the web browser to change it. The default user name is "admin" and password "1234". I used the CD program to install the first printer. Then, I looked at the port settings and set all of my other printers manually. It works great with no problems.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Nice Print Server
Pros: It's small. Setup was straight-forward. I installed it at a customer site supporting 5 users. It's connected to an HP LaserJet 2200 series printer. Collectively, they print about 1,500 pages a day. So far, there were no reported propblems.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: People who have limited or no knowledge of setting up network devices should educate themselves first before tackling such tasks. Writing negative reviews and blaming the product rather than their limited know-how is ridiculous. Unless, of course the unit is DOA. Am I the luckiest person to have received the best working unit and all the rest received defective ones! I don't think so.

Plug the print server (PS) to a good surge protector or a UPS. Connect the PS to your router and wait for a couple of minutes for it to obtain an IP address. Use a free IP scanner utility or from your router table, read which IP address was issued to the PS; then using that IP, connect and configure the PS using your favorite browser. I usually set the up the PS with a static IP so it is easier to reconnect in the future. After the PS is configured, connect your printer to the PS.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Printer Server Rox
Pros: Works with HP LaserJet 3050. If ur new to routing, just follow posting on 7-10-2010 at 2:39:30 PM. Just find the router on your network. Since I use DD-WRT on my router (linksys blue box WRT-54G), it showed up in the router software as 192.168.1.114. Plugged that IP address on my web brower (Google Chrome) and I knew it was running. Follow the 7-29-2012 posting to get to run as a printer. It rox!
Running Win 7 64 bit. Login is root/

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1
Pros: None
Cons: Almost impossible to set up
Other Thoughts: I'm willing to work with hardware that isn't well documented and is somewhat finicky, but this is just a piece of garbage. There is no documentation regarding the default setup parameters, so unless one is willing to ping 255 potential addresses (assuming the default is on the 192.168.1.x subnet), the ONLY way to get to the device is via the IOGear installation utility which uses some layer below TCP to hunt for the device's MAC address. And simply put.... the setup utility is a piece of junk. It was completely unable to find the device on my network, even after removing all but the device and a single PC.

Don't waste your time and money on this. Get a different one.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for the inconvenience. To better service you and understand your set up, please feel to contact our customer support at 1-866-946-4327 or email us: support@iogear.com. Your network must be DHCP enabled. The GPSU21 pulls an address automatically through DHCP and then you can use the wizard to configure this devise. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Works after a bit of futzing
Pros: - Small
- Works as expected
- Fits in the cable access area of my HPLJ6 with the door closed (barely)
Cons: - Uses a separate AC adapter instead of using power from the printer.
- Have to route that power cable and plug into a second outlet.
Other Thoughts: It takes a bit of futzing to get this to work, and setting up the printer on your various PCs can be a little bit of a chore, but once you get through all that it does work seamlessly. The only real problem I have had is that I get print timeouts because I'm having a network problem but the printer shows as online - in other words, there is not remote status reporting via the Windows print dialogs.

One other thing that irritated me is that I wanted to name my printer a specific way but I had to conform to its name scheme for which I don't particularly care. Minor quibble for which I'm not deducting points.

Also, it's a bummer that it doesn't allow my printer to have Airprint functionality; I'd like if it did but again no markdown for that.

All in all I'm very happy, especially for the price.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Great print server!
Pros: Great device. Some networking skill may things easier for the average user.
Cons: web interface "test print" did not produce a test print
Other Thoughts: Setup using IPP with a ZEBRA 500 to print shipping labels from overseas, works perfect. Windows users remember to install "Internet Printing Client" for IPP (not available on Windows Starter edition), then forward por 631 after setting a static IP on the device.
